The difference is that football players don't go to a school thinking it will be
a one year stop. Whereas high profile basketball recruits do.
Sure they have the option of leaving via the transfer portal, but what would be the point of going to a school like BYU knowing beforehand that you'd transfer away to another program before your sophomore year?
