Wife said she found a handful of shingles in the yard after the windstorm yesterday. This roof is 20 years old and probably needs to be replaced. A roofing company had a rep going through the neighborhood offering to help file insurance claims. Rep said the "good news" is that our shingles aren't made anymore so insurance would have to pay for replacement instead of repair.

On the one hand it would be nice to get a new roof. On the other it seems kind of scammy. Anyone have any experience or insight on this?
