Jerry West is the reason Klay Thompson was not traded for Kevin Love. West saw things in Klay's potential as a defender and how he & Steph could play together that no one else could see. And that foresight kept together the structure of a team that ultimately changed the way basketball is played. Bob Myers gets the lion's share of the credit, but without West it is likely the team never would've becme championship caliber.
