They were not the 1 seed. They tied with San Antonio and back then, conference
champs got the higher seeds. San Antonio had the tiebreaker so the Jazz fell to the 3rd seed even though they had the better record than the Trailblazers. So the Blazers had the home court advantage in round 2.
