I translated the memoirs and used WWII intercepts of the Japanese Ambassador to the Soviet Union. Despite his warnings he was presented the Soviet declaration of war and news that the Red Army was invading Manchuria. The Soviets had secretly got a promise at Yalta that resulted in them breaking the Neutrality Treaty with Japan. It is an incredible story and took a few years to put together. I had retired as a professor and university archivist from BYU-Hawaii. Gentleman Samurai and Internationalist, Roman, 2021.
