chant of “fight, fight, fight!” is so ignorant and dangerous — I can’t stand when people encourage violence like this.

I’m convinced it’s done by those who have never been in fights before and those who don’t understand and appreciate how dangerous it is — particularly in environments with controls or safety measures in place like a sanctioned fight for example.

I’ve been beat up severely by several grown men at one time during a group brawl where my group was severely outnumbered. I had a serious concussion and other injuries from that fight. One of my friends was knocked unconscious, I saw one opponent throw a large boulder towards a friend of mine who was knocked on the ground. It was a violent scene straight out of a movie. We were lucky enough to get everyone out of there without life-threatening injuries.

I’ve been in other fights where I was the victor and could have seriously hurt the other person. I really struggle with this stuff. I don’t want to hurt other people and I don’t want to get hurt so I’m a big advocate to avoid physical altercations with extremely few exceptions.

The irony here is trained fighters are more fearful of these kinds of fights then everyday people and it’s because they have a profound understanding of how dangerous concrete surfaces are, asphalt etc… They know that one punch can lead to serious injury or death.

It’s all avoidable and we should be educating our children why we don’t encourage fights and violence outside of a safe floor surface and protective gloves and headgear preferably. My sons box occasionally but they know they aren’t allowed to on solid surfaces.
