It's really not that great. I have worked/built multiple hotels and homes out there over the last 25 years. I've spent a lot of time there not just working but recreating after work. It's convenient to GTNP but not more convenient than Jackson. It's convenient to trails but so is Jackson. There are far fewer places to eat than in Jackson and the options for food aren't that great. The best restaurant out there is the Four Seasons and everything else is just ok. All of the other activities, gondola, horseback riding, mountain biking, ropes courses, etc are all available in Jackson.
