cougarfan84 Intervention Needed
I don't think that's what he was saying at all.

He was simply commenting on the high turnover that the team has had over the last month or two. But to compare his departures vs. arrivals as to whether or not we got better or worse is a bit flawed. In doing so, you are seeing losses of guys like Collin Chandler and Isaac Davis - who while they changed their commitments weren't on the team last year so you can't make the argument that we lost them from last year's team. If you filter the Departures to only those who were on the team last year (Remove Chandler and Davis) and additions to those who will be on the team this year (remove Bahr) you get:

Additions Departures
Egor Demin (97+) Jaxson Robinson (95)
Mawot Mag (90) Aly Khalifa (91)
Keba Keita (89*) Noah Waterman (89)
Elijah Crawford (88) Marcus Adams (87)
Brody Kozlowski (88) Spencer Johnson (N/A)
  Atiki Ally Atiki (N/A)

When looking at it with these filters, the Additions compared to the Departures is much closer to a wash (when not looking at continuity and experience).  If we are able to add one more big to the roster (Berke???), I would argue that are incoming players are a slight increase over our departing players.  Not sure if that is going to happen or not, though.

At the very least, I don't see a big drop-off from last season and I think this team has been built to be very competitive next year.  Will it be a top-20 team competing for a 4 seed like last season? Possibly not. But it is a legitimate NCAA-tournament team and anything less than that with this roster would be a disappointment.
