Respected. BYU had a memorial service for him after his passing. It was well attended. Years later I visited with LaDell several times. He could never say enough about Wayne and what a fine young man he was off the court. Even in defeat, there was always great respect for Wayne and how good he was off the court. The was no need to belittle the opposition like there is today.
