I’m familiar that teams have some sort of “farm teams” similar to the MLB in the AHL, etc., but it’s a little different because teams don’t always own the farm teams but have deals with them.

Does that mean players are drafted straight out of high school occasionally like baseball?

So can they be drafted out of college or high school? Is there a rule for if they go to college how long they have to go? Pretty sure it’s 3 years in baseball.

And how does acquiring international talent work?
