The football program incrementally built a solid culture and brand of toughness and relentlessness.
For my son who is a BYU fan, but was offered a PWo by the U what is the opportunity to play a solid program against other storied teams.
What some fans forget is all the bumps and twist and turns it took for Kyle, Whittingham and Company to build that culture. BYU is struggling to remain relevant during independence and has yet to catch up with the advantages a larger conference provides. I would guess BYU closes the gap fairly quickly. if The chooses Morgan Scally, I think they perpetuate a very strong program. Despite my early dislike of him as a player, I’ve learned he is an outstanding guy, and a very good coach.
I’m grateful our young people have some very solid options in one relatively small state. Utah state, Weber, state, University of Utah, BYU, SUU, snow, SLCC and Utah Tech all represent solid academic opportunities for student athletes.
