Especially in hindsight, they absolutely were an overreaction.
Going down by 17 at halftime doesn't give fans an emotional righteousness to make any accusation of ineptitude and laziness that they want.

You can say they are playing extremely poorly, and I'd say you're correct. But that's not what is being said. These are people who are making character judgments and projecting losses on not just this game, but on the season, after one half of basketball.

If anything, it's a little ironic. It reveals that certain posters are ready to quit and throw in the towel early when adversity comes their way. Or at least they were last night.

My 8 year old couldn't handle it either. He gave up on the team too and told me there was no chance. He went to bed and missed a great second half. But he's also 8, so a little emotional instability is expected.
