Can I just address this claim that BYU is $12M in the red on coaches pay this year? The latest Equity in Athletic
report gives the average salary for men's and women's head coaches and assistant coaches: .https://ope.ed.gov/athletics/#/institution/details
According to the report, BYU pays it's coaches right around $15.5M ($15,534,809). So for BYU to be "in the red" by $12M just for coaches pay, they would need to spend over $27M just on coaches salaries alone.
As a point of reference, Utah pays it's coaches just over $19M. Does anyone really think we're paying our coaches $8M more than Utah?
