100%. I posed this same question yesterday and was told: “he’s getting starters minutes and making a starters level contribution. Provides a spark off the bench. Doesn’t matter if he starts or not.” That’s silly bc he could and should be providing a spark to our starting lineup since he’s the best player on the team. Also was told: “he’s a team first guy and doesn’t care about those things. Let others have the title it means more to them.” Would some how starting your best player on any team not make them team first?? What title? He’s the best player. Start him. It just seems so obvious to me. What do I know? I didn’t make my 7th grade basketball team at a school w 40 kids in each class — and I literally thought our basketball season was going to be a complete crap show from the start of the yr considering how we did in conf play last yr. But JR2 is our best player and by all means should be starting. it’s the way sports work …. I think. Start him.
