So a co-worker asks me to come give a kid a ride in my car for their Birthday. We are not close co-workers at all, but we have always gotten along decently well. When they asked me to drive over and make their kids birthday with a surprise, I thought "sure why not!"

This co-worker thinks Electric cars are stupid, never ridden in one, doesn't want to even consider that EVs will continue to gain more and more market share. . . But their kid who turned 11 today thinks they are cool and wanted a ride, so I went.

I show up about 10 minutes early to give the kid a ride, and then leave. . . Mom (the Co-worker) and the husband, grandparents, and other family members refuse to get in the car and say I should just take their kid all by myself. Outside of that, no one will even talk to me. . . I say there needs to be atleast one other adult and set my phone to voice recording, but the whole family just looks at me and shakes their head "No" they don't want to go. So right as I am about to get back in my car and drive home, grandma sits in teh car and lectures me about how I should "Just take the kid for a ride".

After launching the car 3 times and showing the self-driving functionality, I drop them back off at home. . . Then I spend the 15 minute drive home wondering what the heck just happened. I literally went over there to do the family a favor. . . and I got the silent treatment.

This happened around 3:50 PM . . . Sorry I am just now getting around to posting. But that was really weird. I am thinking something else was going on, but when I came everyone just shutup and stopped talking about whatever it was.
