This is a money grab at this point.

Punter said he won't pay anything b/c he wants to be fully exonerated. The attorney is trying to get to something to save face. If the punter refuses to settle, I bet the Plaintiff attorney will withdraw before it goes to trial. If not, he risks potential exposure for malicious prosecution.
