The part that gets ignored in those numbers is the location of homes. As time goes on, new builds have to be in less and
less desirable locations.

Young people might be able to find a home they can afford, but instead of Irvine, CA it’s in Riverside, CA. Or instead of the east bench of SLC it’s in Eagle Mountain.

Telling kids who grew up in Orange County to stop complaining because there is affordable housing with low interest rates in Oklahoma really misses the point.

That’s just life in a world of population growth, but the home affordability discussion is apples & oranges when the affordable homes today are in less desirable locations than the affordable homes 40 years ago.
