Big 10 teams, like SEC teams, are smart, do not like to lose, tilt the field in
their own favor every chance they get, and thus rarely take road games home and away two time zones away. I did not say never. I said rarely. And, when they do, they choose opponents where the risk vs reward calculation is equal or favorable.
It is a very short list of Big 10 teams that have been willing to schedule games out west on a level basis.
For a while, B1G and PAC were going to have such a scheduling agreement, but it fell apart because this risk of losing a game hurt post season opportunities. Expanded playoff May lessen that issue, but bottom line is that the power teams live to win and hate to lose. Money only matters to the extent they believe it helps them win.
