There is zero benefit to saying anything that detracts from the current conference goal of sticking together.  So, it makes total sense to stick to the PR kumbaya.  Privately, they can hedge their bets if the PAC dissolves or is relegated out of the P4/5.  The PAC schools are all smart (apparently aside from Utah) and are sticking to what's in their best interests, which is obviously to publicly stick to the PR kumbaya and privately hedge their bets.
