Universities should be able to pay athletes for their name & likeness. If people are going to get hung up on ‘pay for play’ then it forces you into this weird space where athletes are forced to recover some of their NIL value this way.

I do not agree with caps, especially when there are no caps on what coaches or universities can collect.
