of P5 programs that have won back-to-back championships in the last 4-5 years. You'll see why it's a big deal.
Making a sweatshirt before the game to honor the occasion isn't that big of a deal. Should they wait and only produce things if and only if they win?
— Also compare Utah composite recruiting rankings, and you'll also see why winning helps sustain winning.
— Watching USC leave and putting the conference in the current situation is frustrating, beating them twice, even with the Heisman, and blocking the playoffs, is sweet justice. Back-to-back years with wins over top 5 teams. That's cool.
— I remember when Utah won the BCS bowls and was invited to the P12...BYU fans felt the injustice...they would always revert back to how many conference championships they won. Most of those go back to the WAC days when BYU was dominant. That seemed to be a source of pride but I remember BYU losing a majority of those bowl games. Didn't seem to take away the championship though or how proud BYU fans were.
Maybe it's different.
— Losing the RB the way Utah did to top 10 teams isn't embarrassing. Certainly weren't killed. I think objective fans would see both games extremely tight until Utah lost QB1.
I don't many lower tier P5 schools who are expected to beat top 10, blue blood programs with the backup QB. It changed the entire dynamic of the game. Props to those schools for winning. But I don't think it's anything Utah should be ashamed about. I don't get that at all.
