Recruits get tickets with assigned seats at BYU. That is so clueless. Yes they are in specific areas of the stadium. Football recruits see right behind the team bench on the first few rows. They check in, show an ID and get up to 3 assigned seats from an envelope that has their name on it.
Other sport recruits get similar seats but are seated close to the field in assigned seats but closer to the North EZ.
Now, at Utah, it works a bit differently. Utah has several hundred/thousand standing room only (SRO) seats for football games. Any high school kid in the state can show up and get a SRO ticket. The Utah ticket people literally have a list of every varsity player by team in the state. Once that is verified, they give up to 3 tickets to the “potential” recruit. Any player that was invited by the staff or notified the staff and was told tickets will be waiting, has up to 3 assigned seat tickets m an envelope with their name on it.
Football recruits get paper tickets out of their envelope that are then scanned. Recruits for other sports might have digital tickets delivered to their phone but al have assigned seats at BYU. Works the same for basketball games.
