There is probably some accuracy to what you say that people are going overboard with alarm because of the other garbage going on right now within the program.

But it doesn't take much more than a look at recruiting rankings over the past several years to see BYU underperforms chronically. Maybe this situation was accurate as shared, maybe not. But it has at least some degree of plausibility given how poorly by recruiting has gone under the current regime.
