I know money is a powerful motivating factor, but I don’t see the B1G poaching the PAC 12. I think a merger with the B1G would be more probable but would face opposition.

However, I think both conferences go to 8 league games and then announce a scheduling alliance to have each school play 2 out of conference against the other conference. I then think the B1G and PAC JOINTLY bid their media rights together. The TV contracts for both come up at the same time, so it could be doable. Doing so increases the value of PAC 12 inventory and opens up time slots for both leagues.

Now a bonus compensation factor could be introduced for conference winners and schools who make the playoff to keep the big powers happy, but I could see this happening.
