Sitake has more balanced and equitable expectations.

The offense is not as good as the echo chamber thinks it is, but it was clearly better than the defense in 2021. They were roughly equal in 2020. In early Sitake years, the defense was better. In 2022, the offense will likely be better than the defense.

The defense is not as bad as the echo chamber thinks it is most years. The 2nd half or more of 2021, however, it was pretty bad after injuries piled up in a defense that lost a lot of key players to the draft process and then had key injuries pile on top of that.

I expect a Top 20 offense in 2022 and a top 35 defense. Key injuries could unravel that - especially on offense. Think QB and RB. Big depth questions there. Key injuries could also unravel the defense, but not sure any 1 defender is as critical as QB and RB in 2022.

If everyone stays healthy - BYU could get to 10 wins again. That is a very ambitious goal.
