Some of you may remember that my brother and I rode our bicycles across Arizona last year from the Mexico border at Nogalas to the Utah border near Page, AZ. We had such a good time that this year we’re riding across Utah. Assuming it goes well again, next year we'll be riding across Idaho and Montana to complete our migration to the Canadian border.
We're starting at the welcome to Utah sign and over the next week riding through Kanab, Richfield, Nephi, Provo, SLC, and finishing at the Idaho border on the road to Malad. It will be 487 miles and 14,000 ft of climbing.
Last year we rode in honor of my brother’s best friend who passed away suddenly of a medical condition (not COVID related) and left behind a wife and six young daughters. This year we're just riding for fun and to hang out together. We didn't get along well as kids, so it's nice to have this time when we actually enjoy each other's company.
If any of you want to follow along, send me a BM, and I'll connect with you on Strava. You could also join us for part of the ride if you're interested. Here's the plan, but we may make changes due to weather, mechanical issues, etc.
Saturday 21st – Page to Glendale (on 89 North of Kanab) – 95mi, 5200ft
Sunday – rest day
