and a stake presidency member who were big Ute fans. It wouldn’t have been so bad if they were casually pro-Ute, but they would both routinely rip on BYU in smaller church meetings (HC meeting or stake priesthood meeting). I came very close to getting up and leaving the meeting one time because I was afraid I’d say something I’d regret. The high councilor was especially insulting.

The strange thing is, both of them were really great guys and wonderful church members. They just had this glaring blindspot and hatred for BYU that was completely irrational and unbridled. I trace my mistrust of Ute fans back to those guys.
