I suspect the starting lineup will be:
1-Lucas
2-Barcello
3-Knight
4-Lohner
5-Harward
But, I think George, Knell, Erickson and Johnson will all push hard for minutes, too. There may be times when Te’Jon and Seneca are on the bench in favor of better perimeter shooters. I could see Barcello sliding back to the 1 while Knell, Hunter or any one of our higher percentage three point shooters (higher that Seneca and Te’Jon, anyway) log minutes at the 2 and the 3.
I think Baxter will begin the season as the primary backup at both the 4 and the 5, but might start at either position by the beginning of conference play.
I could see Pope shaking things up depending on opponents and matchups. I could see him going big with a Harward, Baxter, Lohner, Knight, Barcello lineup.
Or, I could see him going small at times with Baxter, Lohner, Knell, Barcello, and Lucas, too.
In any event, I don’t think the lineup will be as straightforward or as easy as one might think. There are a lot of skilled, athletic players on this roster. I think there are a lot of guys who can get it done in different ways.
