Having conversations with parents, they all want more seat time.
What they fail to realize is that more seat time =/ more learning. At that point you are using it as a glorified baby sitter and it is detrimental to student performance.

Time in a classroom does not equate to learning. It's how that time is utilized is what matters. If teachers actually had time to perform their pedagogy as is needed without obscene hours after contract time then we would see a definite increase in achievement for students. Students would be happier, teachers would be happier, and its a win for everyone.
