Going to church is generally not my favorite part of vacations, but often great
We spent a week and a half in Fiji visiting my parents who were temple missionaries there while the temple was closed with all 7 of their kids and spouses. Several family members listed church related activities as their favorite and/or among their favorite for the trip. Several in the group were asked to speak in church. Priesthood meeting and Relief Society Meetings were great. After church the ward bought like 15 gallons of ice cream and we helped serve the ice cream. Many of the ward had never had ice cream and few had eaten ice cream more than rarely. Many people came back for 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, I'm sure some came back about 10 times for more ice cream. We also had our own sealing session and endowment session with my parents officiating after hours in the temple before it closed. Sat in the sealing room discussing sealings and other things. Super cool. Spent an evening discussing church/ religion related topics another day.

We always try to go to church while on vacation (the last year we just video in to the home ward). Camping we usually hold a religious service, if there is no church close by. Attending church is almost always good, but generally not the most memorable part of the vacation.
