receivers produce the best quality so he bought one of those, a projector and a sound bar. Couldn't figure out for the LIFE of him why nothing worked when he plugged in the HDMI cords. In his defense, this is a counter-intuitive problem but it ended up us driving to best buy and getting a true 5 channel speaker system instead of a worthless stupid soundbar that is actually completely incompatible with a receiver.

Spent some time stripping speaker wire and worked like a charm!
