How is the Real wives of salt Lake connected to BYU sports?

Apparently one of the girls, Whitney rose married BYU basketball player Sam Burgess when he was on the team in 2007. Whitney and Sam both went to lone peak. 3 years later she left him because she was pregnant with her boss's baby... her boss was Dave Rose's brother
