The Jazz offense struggled this year because team's changed how they defended the Jazz. They dropped Rudy's defender to the basket everytime. Everyone knows he can't shoot. So it takes away his dive and then whoever has the ball now has another defender at the basket.

Things changed when they got Clarkson. A guy who can shoot. Things also changed when Joe started running the pick and roll instead of Conley who had no idea what to do because he always had a big who could shoot (Gasol), a big who could pop and draw a defender out, instead or having to roll everytime.

Rudy even hilariously complained early in the season that he needed to be getting the ball down low more and stated that the Jazz didnt use him enough against Houston the past 2 seasons in post up situations, lol. I assume he was talking about the playoffs. The dude got pushed out of the paint by Chris Paul over and over again. Not to mention what PJ Tucker does to him.
