I don't think it is a stretch to say it is 10 times deadlier than the flu, if you think it is less than that that's fine. As you pointed out Covid has the ability to spread and infect many more than the flu normally does, if only because of vaccines and herd immunity. In the grand scheme of things this virus is more similar to the flu than SARS and MERS, but this outbreak is leaps and bounds above the flu both in terms of infections and deaths.
