I have a neighbor kid that had a parakeet. He would take it out back and let it
sit on top of its cage in the fresh air. It's wings were clipped so it couldn't fly away. He said it was sitting on top of the cage when something swooped in and took it away. He was in shock and wasn't sure what it was. I figure it was either a Cooper's hawk or we sometimes see Kestrels around here too. Tough life lesson.
