LOL. Some thoughts after simmering down a bit from the Hawaii Bowl disappointment.

1. The 3rd and 2 call was still one of the worst called and executed plays I can remember in a big moment. BUT, the Seattle coaches made me feel a little better last night with the delay of game at the 2 yard line.

2. We should have won the game in Hawaii, but beating Hawaii in Hawaii is always a bit tricky. Shout out to Arizona, Oregon State, Army and SDSU this year.

3. Extending Kalani Sitake's contract was best for the BYU program. Extending his contract does NOT preclude BYU from firing him at some point in the next year or two AND it helps to bolster recruiting and helps to keep the spirits of the team up. I don't think this year would be a good one to let Kalani go. While we all recognize he has had his struggles, he has also had some real bright spots. I haven't given up on Kalani yet, but I would keep the proverbial team doors unlocked just in case.

4. I don't know how good of a defensive coach Tuiaki is, but I think he is much better than he is given credit for on this Board (which is none). Some posters seem to honestly think Tuiaki is completely brainless and shouldn't be coaching football even in Pop Warner. Simply put- you are wrong. There may be better Defensive Coordinators out there, but the Tuiaki persecution on here is a bit crazy.
