you spent so much time there. You either live close or have lots of time to take off in order to spend hundreds of days on the lake. Both situations most people don't usually find themselves in. Not knocking the decision just pointing out why boats often don't make sense for many people beyond just the maintenance and purchasing costs.
If you live on or very near a lake or have lots of time to spend on one then you are only dealing with the decision to jump into your boat or drive over. With family, extended family and church days off I need I honestly don't where I would find the time to utilize a boat.
