1. The ability to get your loan ready to close on time, or early.
2. The ability to get you locked into the best possible rate. Rates change daily, or more often when the market is volatile.
3. The ability to work with the underwriter to minimize surprises.
Finding a list of lenders and their rates at one moment in time looks nice but it really tells you very little, and is useless for actually completing the process in a timely manner and locking in the best possible rate.
