Super cheap to run and are sufficient.
On the other hand, constant maintenance fixing leaks, replacing belts, cleaning out bugs, replacing pumps and motors. Or I just might be a lousy homeowner. Plus, if you aren't on top of it, it'll leak all over your shingles and permanently stain the roof, which looks trashy.

Either way, it's usually fairly easy stuff to fix.

You won't ever come home to an instant cooling relief from the heat. June always sucks as I get acclimated to the heat, but by August I'm used to it.

If the house is affordable and fits your needs, I wouldn't worry about it. Central Air is only a few thousand bucks away if have to have it and want to replace the cooler.
