They work okay until it gets humid (summer "thunder-bumper" times). You need
to have windows open (somewhat) in order to get the cool air flowing into and through those rooms and out the window, otherwise they don't really cool those rooms well.

Cheap to run. Less effective than AC. Some elevated mold risk.
