This is part of the problem. There are BYU fans that actually believe this.
They don't understand that the WCC has 3 teams in the Top 50 and 5 teams in the Top 100. The Big Sky/Big West/WAC combined have 2 Top 100 teams, and zero Top 50.
They don't understand that SMC is the equivalent of SDSU, UNLV, New Mexico, etc. They refuse to understand that over the past 15 years based on postseason success and scientific ratings, SMC is their equal or, in the case of New Mexico and UNLV, their better. They don't understand that San Francisco is a better program than more than half of the MWC.
There is a huge space between the Big West, Big Sky, and WAC, and the WCC/MWC.
