Fact: the defense gave up a fourth quarter lead in both of Max's wins
Against Utah, including a 2 TD lead in 2009.
As for the "he played so much more than anyone else" excuse that is not a strong argument.
Beck actually played more than Hall.
Engemann could have, but couldn't stay healthy, and then left a year early.
Walsh would have, but decided to leave early.
Detmer did.
Feterik almost did. Missed a few games in 1997 due to injury, but still wasn't close to Hall's win total.
Hall's wins record is a huge testament to how good he was.

I didn’t think this was an unpopular opinion, maybe it is. But, I think Max Hall is one of the greats.
