Where I choose to live my life makes me just a little bit better than others.
As many of you know, I live in the Northeast portion of the SL Valley. It's an area that has a solid mix of well to do mos, jack-mos, ex mos, and never mos. In my neighborhood the kids have to be prepared to deal with some of this hostility toward the not-quite-so predominant faith and everyone including them benefits from this.

Our choice to live in a place like this makes us a little more righteous than say if we lived in Holladay, a little less than the aves, a lot more than Draper, and a ton more than Utah county.

I usually determine a person's righteousness by where they live. It's a good proxy. Like Utah has degrees of righteousness, Idaho and Arizona are about equal (exceptions for Northern Idaho which is on par with Oregon, Texas, Washington, Texas and California). Orange and SD County plus East Valley in the Phoenix metro cause you to lose several points relative to the rest of the state.

Colorado, Montana, Alaska, Hawaii, Eastern Wyoming (western is Idaho) New Mexico (half point loss for ABQ metro) are roughly on par with other Western States. Midwest gets you additional points and anything East of the Mississippi minus SVU and certain DC metro neighborhoods gets you the most US points. Overseas almost always wins, but some exceptions may apply.

Following these very basic criteria will help you to understand when you meet someone, how righteous they are.
