Your take is bogus.
Kuzma played for "P5" school and went late first round. He had roughly that draft grade all along.

Mika never had a grade that showed he'd be drafted.

23 isn't over the hill, but it is significant when you look at the trend of the NBA lately. Simple analysis and just paying attention to the draft clearly shows a trend towards youth.

My guess is Mika knew that his was his year. Nobody in the WCC or the country could have prepped for his game this past year as he had be serving a mission. If he comes back, teams will scheme for how to defend him and most likely he doesn't end this upcoming year with the type of season he had last year. The NBA is all about what have you done for me lately. If he regresses at all next year, then he truly has no shot at NBA and he misses out playing a year of pro-ball overseas. (why do you think there are so many one-and-done kids?)

You say he took bad advice, but explain to me why it is bad?

Mika will be making ~$100k and most likely furnished with an apartment/car(s) (very common for European teams to do this), is back in his mission country with his wife, playing some decent bball, and his earning potential is only going to go up.

How many kids coming out of BYU (with a degree) are making 6 figures and living in their Mission country?

Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. I'd take it.
