Get second opinion from a pediatric dentist. It's incredible how much variation
there is from what one dentist says to the next. We had a similar experience when we moved and found a new dentist. Said both my kids at the time needed pulpectomies, a couple crowns and multiple fillings. Went to a pediatric dentist for a second opinion and he said one kid needed a filling and the other two fillings. Saved me hundreds of dollars. This was years ago and the kids have done totally fine since then.

When I lived in Provo at BYU a dentist told my wife she needed two fillings on front teeth. We didn't do it cause that seemed weird and went to a dentist in her home town next time we needed a check up. We didn't tell him what the other dentist said just to see what he recommended - no fillings. That was about 11 years ago. My wife has been to several dentists since then and not once has been told she needed a filling.

I'm not trying to criticize dentists. Maybe they can each argue with good reasoning for their recommendations. But the fact remains that what they say you need varies widely, so obviously it's often very subjective. It could be that your dentist is right on and that's what they need. I have no idea. But it's worth getting a second opinion if you don't feel good about it.
