That's the fallacy here. Teaching "self reliance" while asking for govt. bailout

and not realizing the incongruity there.

The unfortunate thing is that most kids can't make it in college without some help. Grants help those whose parents can't, but parents who can, should (while still expecting the kid to provide for as much as they can).
