I never met Jake but am a second cousin with his amazing wife Jordan. And just knowing her, I know he was a great man. Jordan and I were blessed to serve our missions together in Venezuela and she was, and still is, a spiritual giant. What a wonderful family and amazing people. My wife and I have prayed and prayed for Jake and their family when we first heard about this a couple years ago. We prayed and prayed more as we would regularly read their blog and our own faith was strengthened by theirs. Our heart breaks for the family but know, as Jordan and her family know, the reality of this gospel. Doesn't always make it easier but does give us hope and peace. The peace that all of us long for, especially in difficult times.

We lost a great man and he leaves behind a wonderful family. I know he will be there to help them as they continue to face life's challenges.
