... but I think BYU is absolutely in and will go in as a 10 seed. BYU being a bubble team seems to be more of a media obsession because, frankly, there aren't many good bubble stories this year. They need something to talk about and keep readers/viewers engaged and an interesting, fast paced BYU team with a couple of stellar players fits the bill.
Luckily, the committee isn't the media and will take a more objective look. BYU's worst losses came during injuries to key players. The committee considers this. BYU is finishing the season on a streak, going 1-1 vs a top 10 and 2-seed Zag squad. BYU's "bad" losses really aren't as bad as people think, media hype notwithstanding. Bad losses used to be to teams outside the top 150, not top 100. Current RPI for Pepperdine is 135 and San Diego is 155. The committee may only view it as 1 bad loss and 1 very good win. Other teams BYU lost to have RPIs of 8, 15, 27, 55 and 73.
I'm pretty confident BYU will be dancing with around a 10 seed.
