Best example of this was when I went with my dad and brother (same 2 I mentioned in my post above) to BYU @ Utah football in 2006.

A little background: I cheer for BYU in all things except when playing USU. So basically, I was engaged and my wife was finishing up at the U. She had a lot on her plate with wedding plans and school and offered her student tickets to us. So the 3 of us go (decked out in Y gear) with my wife's aunt and uncle to sit in the MUSS. This was the Beck to Harline finish so you can imagine the atmosphere and how charged everything was. I can tell you we were very loud and had a great time, but we also weren't stupid enough to take shots at the Utes. We simply cheered for BYU. Sure we got plenty of looks and the occasional "BYU SUCKS!" but that was honestly it. No threats, nothing thrown at us or poured on us, nobody getting in our face, nothing. We walked out and had a great ride home.
