There's bleeding risk for tonsil surgery.
And no, I'm not a doctor. A doctor spoke with us about it when we were considering surgery for our kid. Something to ask about.

Sometimes its one of those "we're here, we might as well" deals...

I think it’s normal. Why do you want tonsils?

There's a risk of bleeding after adenoidectomy as well.

I know the reverse is true (take adenoids out along with infected tonsils),

If they looked at her adenoids they have looked at her tonsils. They will always

Wish they would’ve taken my daughter’s tonsils out when they took out her adenoids

Yep, wish they’d taken mine out as a kid too when getting my adenoids

Normal. They are right there and it’s easy to do it if they need to

I don’t take tonsils out unless there is an indication. Please ask and don’t feel bad about it.

Indications being chronic tonsillitis or documented obstructive sleep apnea. Just because they are there or big is not.

I had mine out as an adult and it was brutal. I know that doesn't answer your question really, but regardless, I'm happy

Actually, I do have advice: always push back and make sure you are satisfied.

Doctor: Sir you’re having a heart attack! Robokayne: I’d like a second opinion

At the very least, I would want a sanity check from Cougarboard 😉

Very good advice. Doctors generally want to do the right thing, but you can't

While the recovery really really sucks. Getting my tonsils out has been great.
